Faisal Rashid MP tables amendment to Queen’s Speech in effort to enforce UK-wide fracking ban

London,October 2019-(Amanjit Singh Khaira)-  Faisal Rashid, MP for Warrington South, has tabled an amendment to the Queen’s Speech which, if selected and passed, would ban all fracking in the UK with immediate effect.

Faisal publicly called for fracking to be banned following a record-breaking 2.9 Richter scale earthquake that hit Lancashire on Monday 26th August. The earthquake was significantly larger than the 2.3 magnitude earthquake that struck in 2011, following which fracking operations were suspended in the UK for seven years.

Along with the fear, disruption and potential damage to property caused by fracking, the Committee on Climate Change has concluded that fracking on a significant scale is not compatible with the UK’s climate change targets.

A government report from 2015 concluded that fracking increases air pollution, with substantially higher impacts at the local level where activities are clustered. Fracking also generates large amounts of wastewater, which poses contamination risks to local ecosystems from spills and mismanagement.

Labour has called for an immediate ban on fracking. The Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Andrea Leadsom, has previously dismissed criticism of the practice as “scaremongering” and called it the answer to Britain’s energy conundrum.

Faisal Rashid, MP for Warrington South, said:

“Since fracking began, we have seen record-breaking earthquakes in the North West. Local people don’t want it – only large oil and gas companies do. It is a harmful and dangerous practice which local people would pay the price for.

“We need a Government that will stand up to big companies who want to profit from this industry at the expense of our planet. 

“It’s the next generation and the world’s poorest who will pay the price if this Conservative government puts the interests of a few polluters ahead of people.

“That is why I have proposed an amendment to the Queens Speech which calls on the Government to ban all UK fracking with immediate effect.

“Fracking is not the answer to any of our country’s problems. It must be stopped.”

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ 'ਜਪੁਜੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ' ਦਾ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀਆਂ 19 ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਅਨੁਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ 550ਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਪੁਰਬ ਮੌਕੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿਚ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਮੰਦਿਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਅਜਾਇਬ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਇੰਟਰਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਨੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਭਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਸੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਮੂਲ ਬਾਣੀ 'ਜਪੁਜੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ' ਦਾ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ 18 ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਅਨੁਵਾਦ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਹੈ। 'ਜਪੁਜੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ- ਦਾ ਲਾਈਟ ਆਫ਼ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਫਾਰ ਦ ਵਰਲਡ' ਸਿਰਲੇਖ ਦੀਆਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੰਗੀਨ ਕਵਰ 'ਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਤਸਵੀਰ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ੴ ਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਹੈ। ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੇ ਕਵਰ 'ਤੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਵੇਲ-ਬੂਟੇ ਤਰਾਸ਼ੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਨਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਦੇ 400 ਪੰਨਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਕਲਾਤਮਿਕ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਕਿਨਾਰਿਆਂ 'ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤਰ ਤਰਾਸ਼ੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਵਿਚ 1973 ਵਿਚ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਐਸ.ਡੀ.ਆਈ. ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਕੌਰ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਨੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ।

Western Rail Link to Heathrow Stakeholders Meet in Parliament

London,October 2019-(Amanjit Singh Khaira)- 

Representatives from Parliament, Network Rail, Slough Borough Council, Department for Transport (DfT), Heathrow Airport, Thames Berkshire Valley LEP and Transport for London met in Parliament to discuss the progress of the Western Rail Link to Heathrow (WRLtH).

Whilst Network Rail and DfT have been in discussions over recent months regarding planning, the WRLtH All Party Parliamentary Group’s two Co-Chairs (Tan Dhesi MP and Richard Benyon MP) have also met with the Rail Minister to discuss ways to move this project forward.

Stakeholders also addressed some residents’ concerns regarding congestion and traffic arrangements on Hollow Hill Lane and the Langley Iver area. Although discussions are ongoing, local councils and Network Rail are working on plans for a potential relief road/corridor solution to alleviate pressure on our roads.

In the long term, the WRLtH will hugely reduce congestion and cut emissions dramatically on some of the busiest motorways, as well as reducing train journey times between Heathrow and Slough. By reducing this journey time, Slough will also become even more accessible to businesses and investment, with an estimated £800 million economic activity generated by this project nationally.

Tan Dhesi MP said:

“It was great to meet once again with the WRLtH Stakeholder Steering Group to discuss what the next steps are. This long overdue scheme has had cross-party and Government support since 2012, so much needed progress should be made.  It is vital that this 4 mile rail link between Slough and Heathrow is built, as it will have huge benefits for the environment, economy and passengers.”

ਇੰਡੀਅਨ ਓਵਰਸੀਜ਼ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਯੂ. ਕੇ. ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਕਮਲਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਧਾਲੀਵਾਲ, ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਮੀਤ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਗੁਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਰੰਧਾਵਾ, ਸੁਧਾਕਰ ਗੌਡ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਕਾਰਕੁੰਨਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਬਰਤਾਨੀਆ ਦੀ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਧਿਰ ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾ ਜੈਰਮੀ ਕੌਰਬਿਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਨੇ ਨਵਾਂ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਛੇੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ । ਜੈਰਮੀ ਕੌਰਬਿਨ ਵਲੋਂ ਇਸ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਟਵੀਟ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਈ. ਓ. ਸੀ. ਯੂ. ਕੇ. ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਕਮਲਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਧਾਲੀਵਾਲ ਨੇ ਜੈਰਮੀ ਕੌਰਬਿਨ ਦੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਗਲਤ ਆਖਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕੌਰਬਿਨ ਨੇ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰ ਦੇ ਮਸਲੇ ਵਾਰੇ ਸਾਡਾ ਪੱਖ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹਿਆ ਜੋ ਕੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਅੰਦਰੂਨੀ ਮਸਲਾ ਹੋਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਜਦ ਕਿ ਜੈਰਮੀ ਕੌਰਬਿਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਨੇ ਲੇਬਰ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾ ਜੋ ਯੂ. ਕੇ. ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਅਹੁਦੇ ਦੇ ਦਾਅਵੇਦਾਰ ਹਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸਵਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਟਹਿਰੇ 'ਚ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਈ. ਓ. ਸੀ. ਯੂ. ਕੇ. ਦੇ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਅਤਿ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਅਤੇ ਅਹਿਮ ਮੁੱਦੇ 'ਤੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ-ਵਟਾਂਦਰਾ ਕਿਸ ਅਧਾਰ 'ਤੇ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਕੀ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ? ਜਿਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਨੂੰ 72 ਸਾਲਾਂ 'ਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਹੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ, ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਇਸ 'ਚ ਸਿੱਧੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਦਖ਼ਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇ ਸਕੇ, ਬਰਤਾਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਬੌਰਿਸ ਜੌਹਨਸਨ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਅੰਦਰੂਨੀ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਕਰਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅਜਿਹੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਇਕ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਬਰਾਂਚ ਦੇ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ  ਕਰਨੀ ਠੀਕ ਹੈ ਜਾ ਗਲਤ ਇਹ ਕਿਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਠੀਕ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਵਾਲ ? ਲਗਦਾ ਇਸ ਤਰਾਂ ਹੈ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਵਾਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਦੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਲੀਡਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਸ ਉਭਰਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਸਾਖ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਮ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਏਜੰਡਾ ਹੈ।

ਜਿਥੇ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਤੇ ਓਹਨਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਅਮਰੀਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਠੌਰ ਏਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਬਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨਊ ਵਇ ਜਿਆਇਆ ਆਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ।ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਲੇ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦਾ 550 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ ਪੁਰਬ ਉਪਰ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ।ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਕਰਤਾਰਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਲਾਗੇ ਤੇ ਵਇ ਟੀਕਾ ਟਿੱਪਣੀ ਹੋਈ।ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਚ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਮਾ ਬੋਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਪਸਾਰ ਵਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਵਟਾਂਦਰਾ ਹੋਇਆ।ਕੁਸ ਕੋ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਸਿਆਸਤ ਵਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਗਲਬਾਤ ਹੋਈ। ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਿਲਹਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਮੇਵਾਲ ਵਲੋਂ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਂ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਵੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

ਮਾਨਚੈਸਟਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਚਾਕੂ ਨਾਲ 5 ਬੰਦਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਖਮੀ

ਅੱਜ ਤਕਰੀਬਨ 11 ਵਜੇ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਮਾਨਚੈਸਟਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਬੀਜੀ ਅਰਨਡੇਲ ਸੋਪਿੰਗ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਕ 41 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਚਾਕੂ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉਪਰ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ।ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ 5 ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜ਼ਖਮੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਅਸਸਿਸਟੈਂਟ ਕਾਂਸਟੇਬਲ ਰੁਸ ਜੈਕਸਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਅਟੈਕਟ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਇਆ ਉਸ ਉਪਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਦਰਦ ਨਾਕ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ । ਜਖਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਤੋਰਨਤ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਲਿਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ । ਇਸ ਤਰਾਂ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਦਿਨ ਹੋਏ ਇਸ ਐਟਕ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡਰ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।ਐਟਕ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਪੋਲਿਸ ਵਲੋਂ ਫੜ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

ਲੰਡਨ, ਅਕਤੂਬਰ  2019- ( ਗਿਆਨੀ ਰਵਿਦਾਰਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ)- ਬਰਤਾਨੀਆ 'ਚ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਇਕ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਨਵਾਂ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਛਿੜ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ | ਇਹ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਯੂ. ਕੇ. 'ਚ ਅੱਤਵਾਦ ਖ਼ਤਰਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ ਇਕ ਸਰਵੇਖਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਗਈ | ਸਰਵੇਖਣ 'ਚ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਘੱਟ ਖ਼ਤਰਾ ਹੈ, 3000 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਆਧਾਰਿਤ ਇਸ ਸਰਵੇਖਣ 'ਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ 59 ਫ਼ੀਸਦੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਸਲਾਮਿਕ ਕੱਟੜਵਾਦ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਤਰਾ ਹੈ, 37 ਫ਼ੀਸਦੀ ਸੱਜੇ ਪੱਖੀ, 29 ਫ਼ੀਸਦੀ ਖੱਬੇ ਪੱਖੀ, 22 ਫ਼ੀਸਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ, 20 ਫ਼ੀਸਦੀ ਜਾਨਵਰ ਹੱਕਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ, 12 ਫ਼ੀਸਦੀ ਇਸਾਈ, 9 ਫ਼ੀਸਦੀ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਨ ਹੱਕਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ, 5 ਫ਼ੀਸਦੀ ਹਿੰਦੂ, 5 ਫ਼ੀਸਦੀ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਅਤੇ 3 ਫ਼ੀਸਦੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੱਟੜਵਾਦ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਤਰਾ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਸਨ | ਇਸ ਸਰਵੇਖਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਬਰਮਿੰਘਮ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੀ ਲੈਕਚਰਾਰ ਡਾ: ਜਗਬੀਰ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੌਹਲ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਸਨੀ ਹੁੰਦਲ ਵਲੋਂ ਇਕ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਜਿਸ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਵੈੱਬਸਾਈਟ ਵਲੋਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ | ਸਿੱਖ ਫੈਡਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਯੂ. ਕੇ. ਦੇ ਚੇਅਰਮੈਨ ਭਾਈ ਅਮਰੀਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਿੱਲ ਨੇ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਰਵੇਖਣ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੱਟੜਵਾਦਤਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਘੱਟ ਖ਼ਤਰਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਫਿਰ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਕਿਉਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ | ਦੂਸਰਾ ਇਸ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ 'ਚ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਤੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਤੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਿਆ | ਸਿੱਖ ਫੈਡਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਯੂ. ਕੇ. ਵਲੋਂ ਕਾਊਾਟਰ ਇਕਸਟ੍ਰੀਜ਼ਮ ਦੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਾਰਾ ਖ਼ਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਬਾਅਦ ਹੀ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਵੈੱਬਸਾਈਟ ਤੋਂ ਹਟਾ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ | ਭਾਈ ਗਿੱਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਖ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦਾ ਅਕਸ ਖ਼ਰਾਬ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ 'ਚ ਸਿੱਖ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਸਲਿਮ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨੀ ਲੜਕਿਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਗੁੰਮਰਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਛਪੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਨੂੰ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਸਾਬਤ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ 'ਤੇ ਵੀ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਕੀਤਾ | ਸ: ਗਿੱਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਬੀਤੇ ਕਈ ਦਹਾਕਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਿੱਖ ਮਾਪੇ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਾਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਅਫ਼ਸੋਸ ਕਿ ਨਵੀਂ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ 'ਚ ਮੁਸਲਿਮ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਮਸਲੇ 'ਤੇ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਪਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ, ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੰਤਰ ਧਰਮੀ ਵਿਆਹਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਗੁੰਮਰਾਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ | ਭਾਈ ਗਿੱਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਜੁਲਾਈ 2019 'ਚ ਵੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਵੱਲ ਤਵੱਜੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ | ਜਦਕਿ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਾਰਾ ਖ਼ਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ 'ਚ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਵੈੱਬਸਾਈਟ ਤੋਂ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਨੂੰ ਹਟਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ | ਸਿੱਖ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਨੇ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ 'ਤੇ ਬਰਮਿੰਘਮ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਲੱਗੇ ਲੋਗੋ 'ਤੇ ਵੀ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ | ਯੁਨਾਈਟਡ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਦਲ ਯੂ. ਕੇ. ਵਲੋਂ ਭਾਈ ਲਵਸ਼ਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਡੱਲੇਵਾਲ ਨੇ ਉਕਤ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ |

Faisal Rashid MP attacks Government’s misleading hospital pledges and calls for new Warrington Hospital

Faisal Rashid, MP for Warrington South, has criticised the Government’s plans for ’40 new hospitals’ after it emerged that funding was only to be made available to reconfigure six existing hospitals.

The six hospital projects to be completed are at Whipps Cross Hospital in north-east London; Epsom and St Helier Trust in Surrey; West Hertfordshire Trust; Princess Alexandra Hospital Trust in Harlow, Essex; University Hospitals of Leicester Trust; and Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust. None of these proposed investments will benefit NHS patients in North-West England.

Parts of the Warrington Hospital site are more than 100 years old and essential maintenance of the building costs around £2 million a year, a huge challenge to run an efficient and effective hospital facility.

As Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Healthcare Infrastructure, Faisal has led demands for a new, state of the art hospital to be built in the town. Warrington’s growing population requires a local hospital facility that can cater to the full spectrum of patients’ needs, including comprehensive A&E services.

Faisal Rashid, MP for Warrington South, said:

“Once again, Boris Johnson has shown himself to be incapable of telling the truth. The Government doesn’t have a plan to build 40 new hospitals, it is just reconfiguring six. None of these will have any impact whatsoever on cash-starved NHS infrastructure in the North West.

“Here in Warrington, we have a hospital facility which is massively outdated – some of the estate is over 100 years old. It costs roughly £2 million a year just to keep the crumbling buildings to a usable standard and it is so obvious that investment is desperately needed.

“There is nothing more important than the health and wellbeing of the people in our town.  We deserve services that fully meet the needs of local people. We know that there are growing numbers of elderly residents and those with complex health issues. Our local health services must be able to meet these challenges.

“A Government with a long-term plan for the NHS would invest in a new, all-purpose hospital facility for our town. Instead, we are offered lies and spin. You just can’t trust the Tories with our NHS.

“As MP for Warrington South, I will be writing to the Health Minister to ask him to explain my constituency is still being overlooked for desperately needed NHS investment. I will continue to fight for a new, fit for purpose hospital for our town.”

Faisal Rashid MP calls on Asda to do right by staff bullied into unfair contract changes

Faisal Rashid, MP for Warrington South, has called on Asda’s Chief Executive, Roger Burnley, to do right by Asda staff in his constituency and urgently reconsider forced contract changes.

Faisal wrote to Asda on 14th August to raise concerns regarding reports that Asda staff in Warrington South were being forced to sign new contracts or risk losing their jobs, noting that these forced changes would have a significant impact on them and their Asda colleagues.

Asda employees reported that they felt pressured to sign this new contract by their managers, leaving them with little choice because if they did not sign, they would be forced to leave without any redundancy package. This has left many Asda employees fearing for their jobs and their futures, including staff at the Asda superstores in Westbrook and at the Cockhedge Shopping Centre. Since Faisal’s previous correspondence with Asda over this issue GMB union have reported that Asda have issued all colleagues who haven’t signed up to the changes with a leaflet telling them how to apply for jobs elsewhere. This directly contradicts Asda’s statement in response to Faisal’s initial letter, which claimed that: “The overwhelming majority of our colleagues have signed onto the new contracts and while we appreciate that some of our colleagues find the changes more unsettling, we do not want any of them to leave.”

These contract changes have seen thousands of staff lose out on flexibility and holidays. Many thousands of Asda workers simply won’t be flexible in the way that Asda bosses demand – imposing a new contract won’t change workers’ childcare, caring, studying, family and other outside work commitments.

“I am angered by reports that Asda continue to force these unfair contract changes on employees. 

“I fail to see how this is an appropriate way to treat loyal, hard-working staff in my constituency – particularly at a time when Asda are recording £850 million in annual profits.

“People who have provided years of service to the company are set to lose many benefits. Employees should not feel bullied into signing this contract with the threat of losing their jobs. Once again, I am calling on Asda to do right by these employees and urgently reconsider these forced contract changes.”

ਹਿੰਦ ਦੀ ਚਾਦਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਲੋਂ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਗਲ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਜਬਰੀ ਧਰਮ ਪਰਿਵਰਤਨ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਇੰਗਲਿਸ਼ ਚੈਨਲ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਤੋਂ ਬੇਹੱਦ ਦੁਖੀ ਬਰਤਾਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਲੌਰਡ ਇੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ 35 ਸਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਰੇਡੀਓ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਦੱਸ ਦਈਏ ਕਿ ਇਕ ਇੰਗਲਿਸ਼ ਚੈਨਲ ਦੇ ਰੇਡੀਓ-4 'ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ 'ਥੌਟ ਆਫ ਦਿ ਡੇਅ' ਵਿਚ ਸਾਢੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਹਾਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆ ਰਹੇ 87 ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਲੌਰਡ ਇੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਚੈਨਲ 'ਤੇ ਪੱਖਪਾਤੀ ਰਵੱਈਆ ਅਪਨਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਇਆ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ 17ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ 'ਚ ਮੁਗਲ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਬਰੀ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਰੇਡੀਓ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਣਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਚੈਨਲ ਨੇ ਦਲੀਲ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਇਹ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਇਸਲਾਮ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਇਆ, ਜਦੋਂ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਹਫਤੇ ਚੈਨਲ ਦੀ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮੂਲ ਦੀ ਐਂਕਰ ਨਾਨਾ ਮੁਨਚੇਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਸਲੀ ਵਿਤਕਰੇ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਿਆ ਸੀ। ਓਧਰ ਲੌਰਡ ਇੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਚੈਨਲ ਵਲੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕਣਾ ਇਉਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਈਸਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਈਸਟਰ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕਦਿਆਂ ਦਲੀਲ ਇਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਲੌਰਡ ਇੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਚੈਨਲ ਵਲੋਂ ਅਪਣਾਏ ਰਵੱਈਏ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵੀ ਕਈ ਮੌਕਿਆਂ 'ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ ਅਹਿਮ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਸਰੋਤਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕਿਆ ਗਿਆ।a

ਯੂ ਕੇ ਫੇਰੀ ਦੋਰਾਨ ਅੱਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਫੂਲਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਹੈਡ ਗ੍ਰੰਥੀ ਤਖਤ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਕੇਸਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੋਰਥ ਵੇਸ੍ਟ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਹੈਡਸਫੀਲਡ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਜਿਥੇ ਓਹਨਾ ਦਾ ਭਰਮਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।ਸਿੰਘ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਵਲੋਂ ਐਤਵਾਰ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਭਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਕਥਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਸਾਝ ਪਾਈ।ਜਿਥੇ ਓਹਨਾ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਣੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਨ ਲਈ ਆਖਿਆ ਓਥੇ ਓਹਨਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ 550 ਸਾਲ ਪੁਰਬ ਵੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਖ ਰੱਖਕੇ ਧੂਮ ਧਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਹੋਕਾ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ।ਅੱਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਓਹਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਹਾਜਰੀ ਭਰ ਰਹੇ ਸ ਪ੍ਰਭਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਜਨ ਸਕਤੀ ਨਿਉਜ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਪਸਾਰ ਵਾਰੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ।ਉਸ ਸਮੇ ਓਥੇ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਭਾ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ,ਮੈਂਬਰ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਟਰੱਸਟੀ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਮੰਜੂਦ ਸਨ।

ਲਿਵਰਪੂਲ, ਅਕਤੂਬਰ 2019 -(ਅਮਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਹਿਰਾ)-

ਲਿਵਰਪੂਲ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਲਿਸਟਰ ਸਿਟੀ ਨੂੰ 2-1 ਦੇ ਫਰਕ ਨਾਲ ਹਰਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਦਾ ਸਿਲਸਿਲਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਇਸ ਹਫਤੇ ਖੇਡ ਗਏ ਹੋਰ ਮੈਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਬ੍ਰਾਇਟਨ ਨੇ ਟੋਟਨਹਮ 3-0 ਨਾਲ ਹਰਾਇਆ ।ਬਰਨਲੀ ਨੇ ਇਵਟਨ ਨੂੰ 1-0 ਨਾਲ ਹਰਾਇਆ। ਅਰਸਨਲ ਨੇ ਬੋਰਨਮੌਥ ਨੂੰ 1-0 ਨਾਲ ਹਰਾਇਆ।ਨਿਉਕਾਰਸਲ ਨੇ ਮਾਨਚੈਸਟਰ ਯੂਨਾਈਟਡ ਨੂੰ 1-0 ਨਾਲ ਹਰਾਇਆ।

ਨੋਰਿਚ ਸਿਟੀ ਨੇ ਅਸਟਨ ਵਿਲਾ ਤੋਂ 1-5 ਨਾਲ ਹਾਰ ਖਾਦੀ। ਵੈਸਟ ਹੈਮ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਟਲ ਪੈਲਸ ਤੋਂ 1-2 ਨਾਲ ਹਾਰ ਖਾਦੀ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰਾਂ ਸਾਊਥਹੈਪਟਨ ਨੇ ਚਲਸੀ ਤੋਂ 1-4 ਨਾਲ ਹਾਰ ਖਾਦੀ।

ਲੰਡਨ , ਅਕਤੂਬਰ 2019 -( ਗਿਆਨੀ ਰਵਿਦਾਰਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ) -   ਬਰਤਾਨੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ  ਅਜਾਦ ਸਿੱਖ ਰਾਜ ਖਾਲਿਸਤਾਨ ਲਈ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ੀਲ ਸਿੱਖ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਂਝੇ  ਸੰਗਠਨ ਫੈਡਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਆਫ ਸਿੱਖ ਆਰਗੇਨਾਈਜੇਸ਼ਨਜ਼ ਯੂ,ਕੇ ਵਲੋਂ  ਭਾਰਤ  ਸਮੇਤ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੇਹਲਾਂ  ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਦ ਸਮੁੱਚੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੰਥ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਜਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ । ਫੈਡਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਆਫ ਸਿੱਖ ਆਰਗੇਨਾਈਜੇਸ਼ਨਜ਼ ਵਲੋਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ  ਕਿ  ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਿਹਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ । ਭਾਈ ਬਲਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਜੋਆਣਾ,ਭਾਈ ਜਗਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਹਾਵਾਰਾ,ਭਾਈ ਪਰਮਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਭਿਉਰਾ,ਭਾਈ ਜਗਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਤਾਰਾ,ਭਾਈ ਹਰਨੇਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੱਪ,ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਦਵਿੰਦਰਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੁੱਲਰ  ਅਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਦਿਆ ਸਿੰਘ ਲਾਹੌਰੀਆ ਵਰਗੇ ਸਿੰਘ  ਦੋ ਦੋ ,ਢਾਈ ਢਾਈ ਦਹਾਕਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਜੇਹਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਤੀਤ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ  ਹਰ ਤਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਿਹਾਈ ਦੇ ਹੱਕਦਾਰ ਹਨ । ਪਿਛਲੇ 27 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਦ ਭਾਈ ਲਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਕਾਲ ਗੜ੍ਹ  ਸਮੇਤ ਕੁੱਝ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਿਹਾਈ ਦੀ ਖਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖ ਹਲਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਸਵਾਗਤਯੋਗ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਉੱਥੇ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਰੋਨ ਦੇ ਬਹਾਨੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰੀਆਂ  ਨੂੰ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦਾ ਸੰਕੇਤ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਜਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਇੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਬਣਨ ਮਗਰੋਂ  ਪੰਜ ਦਰਜਨ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਸੰਗੀਨ ਧਾਰਾਵਾਂ ਤਹਿਤ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ ,ਇੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ  ਕਿ ਕੇਵਲ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਰੂਪੀ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੋਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਮਰ ਕੈਦਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਜਾਵਾਂ ਸੁਣਾਈਆਂ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕੀਆਂ ਹਨ । ਜੋ ਕਿ ਬੇਹੱਦ ਨਿੰਦਣਯੋਗ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ਹੈ । ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ 550ਸਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਪੁਰਬ ਮੌਕੇ ਸਮੁੱਚੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਿਹਾਈ ਹੋਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੇਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਆਪਣੇ  ਕਿਸੇ ਨਿੱਜੀ  ਝਗੜੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੁੱਦੇ ,ਬਲਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵਲੋਂ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਤੇ ਜੁਲਮ ਅਰੰਭ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ,ਜੂਨ 1984 ਨੂੰ  ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੇ  ਟੈਂਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੋਪਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਅੱਤ ਵਹਿਸ਼ੀ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਨੇ ਖਾਲਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਖ ਰੱਖਦਿਆਂ ਕੌਮੀ ਅਜਾਦੀ ਦਾ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਆਰੰਭਿਆ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਫਤਿਹ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ।  ਫੈਡਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਆਫ ਸਿੱਖ ਆਰਗੇਨਾਈਜੇਸ਼ਨਜ਼ ਯੂ,ਕੇ ਦੇ ਕੋਆਰਡੀਨੇਟਰਜ਼  ਭਾਈ  ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਚਹੇੜੂ , ਭਾਈ ਲਵਸ਼ਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਡੱਲੇਵਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਜੋਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਲੋਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੈੱਸ ਬਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਦੋਹਰੇ ਕਿਰਦਾਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਖੇਧੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ।ਮਿਸਾਲ ਵਜੋਂ  ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਕਾਂਗਰਸੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਸਿੱਖ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ  ਕੇਸ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਏਜੰਸੀ (ਐਨ,ਆਈ ,ਏ )ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ  ਅਤੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਦਿੱਲੀ  ਦੀਆਂ ਜੇਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਕਿ  ਅਜਾਦੀ ਪਸੰਦ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ । ਗੌਰ ਤਲਬ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬਰਤਾਨਵੀ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਜਗਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੱਗੀ ਜੌਹਲ ,ਭਾਈ ਹਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਸ਼ੇਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਰਮਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਬੱਗਾ ਸਮੇਤ ਦਸ ਸਿੱਖ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ  ਤੋਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੇਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਦ ਕਰਨ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਮੰਤਰਾਲੇ ਵਲੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਲਿਜਾਣ ਤੇ ਰੋਕ ਲਗਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ।  ਪਰ ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਬਹੁਗਿਣਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਤਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ  ਪੁਸ਼ਤ ਪਨਾਹੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ । ਸਾਧਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਿੱਆ ਠਾਕੁਰ  ਸਮੇਤ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹਿੰਦੂਤਵੀ ਅੱਤਵਾਦੀ ਸਬੂਤ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਰਿਹਾਅ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ । ਇਸੇ ਤਰਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਵਰਦੀਧਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਉਮਰ ਕੈਦ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਜਾਵਾਂ ਪੰਜ ਸੱਤ ਸਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਰਿਹਾਅ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਪਰ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਮਰ ਕੈਦਾਂ ਮੁੱਕਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਰਹੀਆਂ ।

Faisal Rashid, MP for Warrington South, has backed the Labour Party’s plans to introduce free personal care for older people who need social care as part of their vision for a National Care Service. Speaking in a Westminster Hall Debate on Tuesday 1st October, Faisal attacked the Government’s record on social care, noting that as of today, 1.4 million older people are currently going without the care they need.

 

Councils have had their budgets reduced by an average of nearly 50% since the Tories came to power in 2010. These cuts have seen £7.7 billion taken out of social care funding since 2010. Warrington Borough Council has had £137 million cut from its budget, with at least another £22 million of savings to find by 2020. Nationally, there are now 8,000 fewer care home beds than there were in 2015.

In Government, Labour plan to introduce free personal care for older people, providing help with daily tasks such as getting in and out of bed, bathing and washing, and preparing meals in their own homes and residential care. Other proposals announced by Labour include:

• Addressing the funding gap in social care;

• Supporting local authorities to directly provide, rather than outsource, care;

• Supporting the care workforce better, to ensure that older people receive support from trained staff who have the time and skills needed to provide care.

Currently, only people with low levels of savings receive publicly-funded personal care. People with dementia face the highest costs for care.

Labour’s plans will more than double the number of people receiving state-funded care and reduce the number of people facing catastrophic costs for their care. Free personal care will ensure people with dementia receive the same care as those with other conditions, reduce the burden on unpaid carers and benefit the NHS by reducing delayed transfers of care from hospital and admissions to care homes and hospitals.

As part of the National Care Service, Labour has pledged to raise standards of care by ending the use of zero-hour contracts, ensuring that carers are paid a real living wage, including for travel time; end 15-minute care visits; and improve access to training and development for care staff.

“Making sure the sick and elderly are treated with care is the measure of any civilised society. I believe that we should not be judged by our personal wealth, but by our compassion for those in most need. But clearly this is not an ethos shared by our current Government.

“Social care is a policy area crippled by government inaction and market failure, causing immense hardship and misery for those who need care and those who provide it.

“As a former New Town, Warrington is seeing a significant increase in our vulnerable older population from those who were drawn to Warrington for work and a better life in the 1970s and 80s.

“It is high time our political leaders showed the courage necessary to rise to the challenge and fix this mess, ensure the safety and security of older generations and treat care workers with the respect they deserve.

“That is why I am proud that my party has recently announced bold, radical plans to do just that. Providing free, personal care to older people will ensure they will be able to live in their own homes for longer, providing them with dignity and the support to lead independent lives for as long as possible.

“It’s time to fix the crisis in social care and ensure everyone who needs it can live with dignity and support.”
